The Story of

Mariana Atencio is a landscape and night sky photographer. She was born in Córdoba, Argentina, and found in photography a way of inhabiting the world with attention, silence, and wonder.

 

For several years, she led a nomadic life, living and working in different National Parks across Argentina—experiences that deeply shaped her perspective and the way she portrays the landscape.

 

In El Leoncito National Park, she discovered the stillness of the night and one of the clearest skies in the country, marking the beginning of her connection with astrophotography.

 

She currently resides in El Calafate, land of glaciers, where she continues to create images inspired by the vastness of its mountains and star-filled skies.

Her photographs invite viewers to contemplate nature with calm and depth, as a space for connection, awe, and silence.
